Speed up WordPress with Cutline and Super Cache
After last week’s downtime, I’ve been looking for ways to make the site faster and more robust.
The last theme I used featured the Vinegar Tasters, and I wanted to keep that. However, since the downtime was due to my excessive RAM usage crashing PHP, I decided I needed a replacement for K2.
I searched high and low, and spent a good deal of time updating the CSS of k2lite for Sandbox, but eventually I found and fell in love with Cutline 2.0.
Cutline is much less resource intensive than K2, so I reworked the theme (everything it seems, since I couldn’t use just CSS changes alone) and now I’m back!
I’ve also taken the opportunity to remove some unnecessary plugins and now I’ve installed WP Super Cache, so Niles Gibbs is as zippy as can be!
